 Our Schools A Year at a Glance2023-2024

Mount Vernon schools were full of activity in the past year as scholars learned, had fun and continued to grow into the adults they will soon become. From reading, arithmetic and writing, to career and technical education, arts and STEAM, students pursued their interests with the full support of the Mount Vernon City School District behind them.

BTA Rhythm and Rhyme

Benjamin Turner Academy will host "A Black History Celebration: Rhythm and Rhyme" in recognition of Black History Month on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at 6 p.m. The performance will feature singing, dancing, step and more.

Financial Literacy Night

The Family and Community Engagement Committee is holding their Family Fun Financial Literacy Night on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 6 p.m. Attend to learn more about family budgeting, insurance, setting goals, buying a house, starting a business and more. The theme of the event, which is on Pi Day, is "Managing Your Piece of the Pi."

MVHS Paris students

At the Board of Education meeting on Thursday, February 15, 2024, the Mount Vernon City School District said ‘Bon Voyage!’ to 18 Mount Vernon High School students who are going to Paris. Students departed on their plane to France on Friday, February 16.
