Principal's message August 2022

Greetings Cecil H. Parker School Families and Community Members, 

I am excited to welcome everyone back for the start of a fabulous 2022-2023 school year! I hope you had an enjoyable summer. A special welcome to the families who are new to Cecil H. Parker School; we are incredibly happy to have you as part of our school community family. We will begin serving you and your children on the first day of school, promptly at 8:30 AM, Wednesday, September 7, 2022.  

I am privileged to have the opportunity to return this school year as your principal, and I feel honored to work with our qualified and dedicated staff, our amazing scholars, and all the supportive parents and community members. Pre-Kindergarten through eighth grade are critical years of child development, and I look forward to working with all of you to make this school year more successful than the last. As a lifelong scholar myself, I am committed to learning how to best serve our Cecil H. Parker School children and their families. 

This past school year, we have been trying to recover, return to normalcy, while still taking precautions from the COVID-19 pandemic. Due to the past remote learning, our staff and young scholars have quickly improved their educational technology. Lessons and assignments are more interactive and engaging. Our teachers continue to implement new technological strategies and platforms to engage our scholars and meet their academic needs.  

Communication and involvement with families are extremely important to us at Cecil H. Parker School. We invite you to please visit our school page on the district website. We are found at the top of the district webpage in “Our Schools” and then find “Cecil H. Parker School.” This will serve as a resource tool for all upcoming events, class supply lists, parent/student handbooks, important reminders, and an opportunity to catch up on the wonderful things in which our scholars and teachers are engaged. In addition, please join the Parker School PTA. Parents and families are the driving force supporting the school and student activities. 

We highly encourage our scholars to wear their school uniforms every day. You will find many of our staff members wearing their uniform colors on Uniform Mondays! At the main entrance, you will find discount coupons to purchase school uniforms. Uniforms help to create a unified community spirited in equality!  

Thank you to our head custodian, Mr. Hennessy and the entire cleaning staff who have been working diligently all summer to prepare our school building. It is sparkling clean and shiny for the start of our new school year. 

In closing, please enjoy the rest of your summer days. It is truly a privilege to be a part of a school community where teachers, students, and families strive to build positive relationships.
