Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. visits Cecil. H Parker School on first day

The New Rochelle-White Plains Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. cheered and greeted the scholars of Cecil H. Parker School as they entered the school building on the first day of school, Thursday, September 7, 2023. The gentleman gifted every student with a bag of school supplies, clapped as they walked into the building with their teachers and shook their hands.

"It was great for our scholars to see all of these men cheering them and wishing them a great school year!" said Jacqueline Green, principal at Cecil H. Parker School.

Cecil H. Parker School hosted a vibrant Career Day, transforming the school into a bustling hub of inspiration and aspiration on Thursday, May 30, 2024. The event brought together professionals from various fields, igniting the imaginations of young minds eager to explore their future paths. This year the theme was "We are...Dreamers, Leaders and Creators.

Starting Monday, June 3, 2024, and lasting throughout the week, Cecil H. Parker School held a book fair, and students were encouraged to purchase books and novelty items such as school supplies, posters and toys through an initiative to support reading. Students picked through a wide selection of genres that piqued their interests and put smiles on the faces of students and staff.

Students and staff at Cecil H. Parker School spent the day preparing for a once-in-a-lifetime spectacle on Monday, April 8, 2024. They were given solar eclipse glasses courtesy of Principal Jacqueline Green in preparation for the day’s celestial event. Teachers throughout the school created lesson plans, such as creating solar eclipse books, to teach students about the spectacular event and how to safely partake.

Cecil H. Parker School students have been rewarded for positive behavior throughout the school year. Points are awarded to students who consistently follow the P.A.W.S. expectations: Practicing respect, Acting responsibly, Working together, and Staying safe. Students used their P.A.W.S. points to enter a raffle, and six students received prizes on Thursday, March 21, 2024.

Students at Cecil H. Parker School congregated in the auditorium for their monthly assembly to learn about the importance of Women’s History Month on Friday, March 22, 2024. The presentation highlighted various influential women who have made a substantial impact on society.
